I was helping a friend of mine out on some computer stuff and he told me this story about a person at a company for which he consults. It seems that this company needs to stay with Office 2003 due to some requirements of their customers. One of their employees had installed Office 2007, and then uninstalled it when he was told about the requirements, but still couldnapos;t install Office 2003 on his machine. Most likely the Office 2007 didnapos;t cleanly uninstall and the registry just needed a little TLC. I should mention that this company has anti-virus software on their machines and it is kept up to date as are the critical OS updates and the computers are set to scan for viruses regularly. Due to scheduling conflicts, my friend was unable to help this person in a timely fashion and advised that he just take the machine to Best Buy and let the Geek Squad help him. Well, they "helped" him by formatting and reinstalling his OS and then Office 2003 claiming that the machine had a virus. Oh, and "corporate policy" prevented them from saying which virus was on the machine. Luckily, this person saved his files on an external drive.
